There’s this one simple, remarkable question that we have never stopped asking ourselves subconsciously ever since we were kids:

Who are you going to be?

And this internal friction happens when you want to choose for yourself and choose what you feel is the right thing to do.

But you can’t, because you have to choose to be accepted.

Self-Love vs. Ego

Your higher self operates purely from a place of love. Conversely, the ego is that lower part of your consciousness that stops you from doing so many other things you want to do in your life. You don’t do the things you want to do because you want to be accepted.

Self-love is the most important thing to learn, accept, and embrace. But very few people actually love themselves.

Choosing for Yourself to Be Your Most Authentic Self

When you begin to choose to be yourself, people begin to respond differently because they see you differently. They see you for who you are rather than who you’re pretending to be. Then you start forming relationships with people who really love you for who you are.

At the end of the day, it’s about answering yourself this simple question:

Are you choosing for yourself or are you choosing to be accepted?
