What does Superman, Clark Kent, and Rootbeer all have in common? The answer may not be what you think!
Today on Diary of a Doer, my guest is Todd Herman. Through his personal story, Todd shares how he knew that inside was a confident, self-assured, intelligent person who could help others get better results in their lives. When he started using Superman’s classic trick—putting on a pair of glasses (connection #1) — he learned to trigger the specific traits he needed to achieve his goals.
I’ve had the privilege of learning from root beer aficionado (fun fact and connection #2), Todd Herman, for years and it was an honor to interview one of my favorite people on the planet!
In this episode, you’ll hear Todd explain Alter Egos, how mental health plays a role in your performance, and we’ll talk about the three forces controlling our lives: Imposter Syndrome, Personal Trauma, Tribal Narratives. We all struggle with at least one of these forces and now that they have names, you can learn how to use your Alter Ego to overcome them.
You’ll also hear how Todd faced his own personal trauma he kept buried for years and as a result, spent the majority of his adult life operating in what he calls “the red line”. When I first heard his story of trauma, I was a crybaby. I’m telling you… the strength Todd pulls from this story is unbelievable and proof that you, too, can overcome your demons.
There are many doorways for why people use Alter Egos. Listen to Todd break down the idea of The Alter Ego Effect and grab a copy of his book available today. It’s been over 15 years in the making and totally worth the wait.
