We always read articles about the best places to work based on culture. While giant companies like Costco, T-Mobile and Google always make the list, it can demoralize us small businesses who lack the resources to offer employees the latest and greatest.

However, I don’t believe it takes extreme perks to make people happy.

In this episode, you’ll hear how to create a company culture that will help you attract and retain employees, keep customers happy and serve as a marketing plan.

I often say a culture starts before you ever have a team. If you run late all the time, blow deadlines, take two weeks to respond to people, you’re building a culture that says that is alright.

Conversely, if you’re responsive, always delivering on your promises early, and are consistently giving a little more than you should, you’re creating an abundance culture.

I share examples of how Cameron Herold grew 1-800-GOT-JUNK from $2 million to $106 million in revenue by creating a “cult-like culture,” and how Scribe Media uses “unbelievable openness” to garner thousands of job applications for every job opening.

You’ll hear how to create a culture in your own business and how to get the word out through various marketing tactics and customer testimonials.
